The Catalan Ombudsman demands social policy to give priority to fight against children poverty

@Sindic
In the Report on Child Poverty in Catalonia, delivered to Parliament at end of September, the Catalan Ombudsman warns that Catalonia only allocates 1% of GDP to social protection policies aimed at children and families, spending less than the European Union (2%) and the rest of Spain (1.2%). Around 285,000 under 16 (23.7%) are currently in a situation of poverty or at risk of it. One the Catalan Ombudsman's recommendations would be to give priority to social spending to combat this phenomenon.
