      The Catalan Ombudsman requests the Administration to strengthen family foster care |
    ![]()  | ||
| In the
      follow-up report on children in foster care families, the Catalan
      Ombudsman recalls that this is the best resource to ensure the well-being
      of protected children and proposes its enhancement by awareness-raising
      campaigns. He also notes that shortcomings have been detected in the
      supervision and monitoring of the foster system. Such shortcomings may
      lead to situations of vulnerability of the child. In this regard, the
      Catalan Ombudsman recommends to set up unified supervision instructions
      and monitoring for all supervisory entities and to develop a Charter of
      rights of children in care. More information Report on the follow-up on children in foster care families |
