The autonomic defenders demand guarantees for citizen's rights in general interest services rendered by private companies
Síndic de Greuges, Rafael Ribó, advanced that the autonomic Defenders will ask for more competences to be able to supervise the companies that manage general interest services, whether such firms are privatised or not.
The ombudsman participated in the second commemorative Sessions of the 20th anniversary of the Law of the Síndic de Greuges in Catalunya, which took place in Barcelona on the 7th and 8th of June. Together with recognized experts of different fields, they discussed about new social issues, as immigration, population ageing, new forms of poverty, contamination acoustics and the privatisation of some general interest services.
