Over 16,000 people have free legal aid in Serbia due to the Síndic’s cooperation project

The initiative started four years ago and so far it has been implemented in eight Serbian municipalities.

The statistical data were made public by the Catalan Ombudsman, Rafael Ribó, within the results presentation conference held in Belgrade. During his stay in the area he also held a meeting at the Vojvodina's Parliament, presided by the Assembly's President.

Of all the persons served (16.359), 15.461 people have benefited from the legal advice and 898 from the in-court representation service.

The function were the results were made public was opened by the Director of the National Office of the Republic's President and the Spanish Ambassador in Serbia. Also, besides the Catalan Ombudsman, it was participated by the Vice-Dean of the Serbian Bar Association, the President of the Permanent Conference of Cities and Municipalities of Serbia and the Major of Novi Grad, one of the eight municipalities were the projected has been implemented. The other ones are Nis, Prokuplje, Vlasotince, Lebane, Sabac, Pancevo i Zrejanin.
