The Deputy Síndic for the Defence of Children’s Rights elected ENOC’s chairman

Xavier Bonal will be responsible, among other things, for co-ordinating the Network, overseeing the administration of any funds or assets and ensuring relations with other relevant bodies and organisations in the field of children's rights on the international level. His mandate will last until September 2008, when next ENOC Annual Meeting will be held Ireland.

ENOC (European Network of Ombudspersons for Children) ENOC is a not-for-profit association consisting of 27 independent children's rights institutions. Its mandate is to facilitate the promotion and protection of the rights of children, as formulated in the Convention on the Rights of the Child, to support collective lobbying for children's rights, to share information, approaches and strategies, and to promote the development of effective independent offices for children.
The Network held its Annual Meeting in Barcelona from September 19 to 21, hosted by the Catalan Ombudsman.
