The ombudsmen from Spain, twelve from the autonomous regions and the national one, asked the administrations to tackle social vulnerability issues in an overall and coordinated way.
One of the proposals is to carry out a continuous self-assessment of the dependence system development to improve on the information provided and to reduce the response times between application and materialization of the service or benefit. They are also in favour of drafting and carrying out public policies stressing on the rooting of vulnerability situations or reducing the risks to suffer them.
The ombudsmen met in Asturias for three days to hold the 23rd Coordination Conference. This year the Conference main topic was the right's defence of the people in serious situation of social vulnerability.
