Rafael Ribó reminded the Ombudman has experienced a record increase of complaints over the last few years and the former headquarters were too small to allocate the whole staff.

Ministers from the Catalan government, members of the Parliament, ombudsmen from other Spanish autonomous regions, local and universities ombudsman and the Síndic's staff attended the event as well.

A concert by Raimon and a guided visit to the exhibition "Opening Doors to Rights" completed the opening ceremony.
