Catalan Ombudsman gives a speech in the 9th International Ombudsman Institute World Conference
The Catalan Ombudsman, Rafael Ribó made a speech on the Ombudsman reaching outside the Public Sector in the 9th International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) World Conference, held in Stockholm on June 9-12.
Ribó's discourse was based on the experience of the Catalan Ombudsman institution, which, thanks to the 2006 Statute of Autonomy, has seen its competences grow and also supervises private providers of public services, such as electricity, telephony, gas or water.
A delegation of the Catalan Ombudsman, led by Rafael Ribó, is attending the 9th International Ombudsman Institute World Conference (IOI), which provides an opportunity for Ombudsmen to discuss a wide range of topics of mutual interest and to take part in discussions and influence decisions concerning the future goals and work of their common organization. The Swedish Ombudsman's 200th anniversary, the world's oldest institution for defending rights, will be celebrated during this meeting as well.
