On March, 18, Catalan Ombudsman Rafael Ribó hosted a delegation from the Human Rights Commission of the Federal District of Mexico, (Mexico City and surrounding area) led by its chairman, Luís González Plascencia, who signed the institution's Visitors' Book.
Various points of common interest were discussed during the meeting. Commission representatives were eager to learn more about the Catalan Ombudsman's operations, and other areas in which the organization is active, especially the environment.
The Commission is an autonomous organization whose remit is the protection, observation, promotion and dissemination of information on human rights, and is the equivalent of the Ombudsman of Mexico City, which has over 18 million inhabitants.
