The Catalan Ombudsman seeks the Council of Europe's international recognition for the IOI
Catalan Ombudsman Rafael Ribó, as chairman of the European region of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) has met with various officials of the Council of Europe at its seat in Strasbourg. The goal of these meetings was to boost the IOI's international recognition, and secure the institute's possible presence on various commissions and councils.
Among others, the Catalan Ombudsman met with the secretary general and highest authority of the Council, Torbjorn Jagland, Commissioner for Human Rights Thomas Hammarberg and the Secretary for the Enlarged Agreement on Democracy through Law Thomas Markert (Secretary of the Venice Commission).
