Commemoration of the International Day against Torture

The Catalan Ombudsman Office, in its condition of Catalan Authority for the Prevention of Torture, has organized an event due to the International Day against Torture. 

The event will take place in Barcelona on 25th June in the afternoon and it will be discussed the implementation of the Istanbul Protocol on the prevention of torture and abuse.

Several experts will participate in the discussion, among them the Catalan Ombudsman, who will be presenting the event, and Djordje Alempijevic, member of the Committee of Torture of the Council of Europe, who will be the keynote speaker.

The participants in the roundtable will be: Jaume Antich, Chairperson of the Barcelona Bar Association; Marc Antoni Broggi, Chairman of the Bioethics Committee of Catalonia; Lluïsa Domingo, Representative of the Coordination Committee for the Prevention of Torture, and Jaume Saura, member of the Task Force of the ACPT and President of the Institute of Human Rights.
