The
Catalan Ombudsman's office will travel to l'Hospitalet de Llobregat
next Wednesday, February 16th to field complaints and queries on
public administrations, and also companies that provide services of
public interest (utilities and telephony). Visits will be taken at
the Collblanc-Torrassa cultural centre, at carrer Mare de Déu dels
Desemparats, 87. Appointments can be made at 900 124 124, or by

The
Catalan Ombudsman has addressed the Directorate General of
Transports and Mobility of the Department of Territorial Affairs and
Sustainability to request information on the scope of the incident,
and the measures taken to restore normal rail service, as he
believes that citizens' rights to mobility may have been
violated.

Eighth
running of the Autonomous University of Barcelona course on the
Catalan Ombudsman |

For the
eighth time, the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Catalan
Ombudsman are organizing a course on the Ombudsman, open to all
students of the University, to explain the theoretical basis of the
institution, and analyse case studies derived from the Ombudsman's
actual activity. An opening address by Catalan Ombudsman Rafael Ribó
will mark the beginning of the course on Tuesday, February 15.

Exchange
visit with the Office for the Defence of Minors' Rights of the
Balearic Islands |

A
delegation from the Office for the Defence of Minors' Rights of the
Balearic Islands, led by its director, Antoni Bennàssar, made a work
and study visit to the offices of the Catalan Ombudsman last January
18. The members of the Office for the Defence of Minors' Rights held
talks with the Catalan Ombudsman's children's affairs staff, led by
the Deputy Ombudswoman for the Rights of Children and Adolescents,
Maria Jesús Larios, sharing matters of common interest, such as the
institutional and competence models of the two territories, and the
situation of children.
