seminar on the Catalan Ombudsman at the Autonomous University of
Barcelona (UAB) |

Sessions
will take place from February 14 to March 12, 2012. Accredited with
1.5 free election credits and lasting 21 hours, the seminar is
organized by the Catalan Ombudsman and the Constitutional Law Area
of the Political Science and Public Law Department of the Autonomous
University of Barcelona. Enrolments to be made at Academic
Management of College of Law as from January, 31 to February, 13
2012.

Catalan
Ombudsman seeks ways of collaboration with the French
Ombudsmen |

Rafael
Ribó, Catalan Ombudsman, held meetings, by mid-January, with the
Médiatrice of Paris, Claire Brisset, and with the Défenseur des
droits of France, Dominique Baudis. Both meetings were aimed to find
collaboration formulas between these two French institutions and the
Catalan Ombudsman. Rafael Ribó took the opportunity as well to
update his French colleagues on the planned activities within the
Framework of the European Chapter of the International Ombudsman
Institute (IOI) chaired by the Catalan Ombudsman.

Rafael
Ribó, Catalan Ombudsman, Ramon Font, president of the Catalan
Audiovisual Council and Jaume Amat, main board member of the Public
Audit Office held a meeting last January 26th for exchanging
experiences and bringing common interest topics together. The
meeting of the main representatives of the Catalan statutory organs
is framed within the collaboration policy shared by such bodies.

The
Catalan Ombudsman back to the TV3 program "Els Matins"

The
Catalan Ombudsman retakes, as of February 2012, its collaboration
with the Catalan Television by appearing in the program "Els
Matins". With a similar format to the previous one, Rafael Ribó
himself will intervene monthly to discuss about common interest
topics taken out of particular cases dealt by the institution and of
the Catalan Ombusman performances carried out on such questions.
Specifically, first appearance is scheduled on February, 9.

Reception
of complaints in different Catalan towns such as Palamós, Pineda de
Mar and Gandesa |

The
Ombudsman Office will visit on February 1, Palamós; on the 7th,
Castellar del Vallès; on the 9th, Esparreguera; on the 14th, Pineda
de Mar; on the 16th, Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, and on the 21st, Gandesa.
The aim of the visits is to make the Ombudsman more accessible to
citizens to file complaints and make queries regarding public
administrations and private firms delivering public services (water,
electricity, telephone, etc).
