The Catalan Ombudsman recommends that foreign children cared by DGAIA are allowed to federate in football teams |
|||
The
Catalan Ombudsman has looked into this issue following a complaint
received in October 2013 about the situation of two foreign minors
supervised by DGAIA and who lived home centres under state care. They were
not allowed to federate and take part in football competitions. According
to the Catalan Ombudsman, the requirements asked for foreign children
cared by the Administration may be discriminatory and proposes such
children be given a special treatment. More information |

On May
1st, an instruction with the requirements for chronically ill people with
low income came into force. Such instruction states that they have to pay
only a 10% of the medicines' cost. The Catalan Ombudsman, who had
repeatedly recommended a regulation to prevent the discretion of the
Administration, is satisfied but cautious regarding the requirements and
the consequent real scope of the measure when put into practice. Such
measure aims to be an alternative for people who were excluded from the
provision of free-of-charge pharmacy with the new co-payment. More information |
