The Catalan Ombudsman will take complaints and queries in Blanes and Cervera

The Catalan Ombudsman's office will travel to Blanes and Cervera to assist citizens wishing to make queries or file complaints against the administrations. In Blanes, the service will be offered to citizens on Wednesday, June 16 and in Cervera on Tuesday, June 22. Appointments can be made at 900 124 124, or by sending an e-mail to this address sindic@sindic.cat

Territorial presentations of the 2009 Annual Report

At the same time as the Ombudsman's office visits Blanes and Cervera, Ombudsman Rafael Ribó will offer presentations of the 2009 Annual Report in both cities. These presentations, especially addressed to organizations and associations, but open to everyone, are designed to explain the Ombudsman's work over the prior year, with special emphasis on the problems detected in every area. In Blanes, the presentation will be given on Wednesday, June 16 at 7 pm, at Casa Saladrigas (Roig i Raventós, 2), and in Cervera, on Tuesday June 22, at 6.30 pm, in the Francesc Buireu hall of the senior citizens' s civic centre (casal de la gent gran) at Manuel Ibarra s/n.

Parliamentary committee debate on the special report on school lunchroom and transport services

The special report Provision and Access to School Transport and Lunchroom Services will be debated in parliamentary committee next Monday June 28 at 4 pm. The report was presented to Parliament last May 6.

Suggestion on the recognition of rights derived from dependency in case of death

The Catalan Ombudsman believes that a person's death should not always imply that dependency proceedings automatically terminate. Rather, whenever possible, they should continue to determine whether or not a situation of dependency still exists and, if necessary, the relevant rights should be recognized.

Investigation on expulsion from the protection system for foreign unaccompanied minors

The Catalan Ombudsman has opened an ex-officio action upon learning of the expulsion of an immigrant minor without any family from the minor protection system in mid-May, although the Directorate General for Children and Adolescent Services (DGAIA) was aware of his status as a minor.

Roses signs an individualized supervision agreement with the Catalan Ombudsman

Among other things, individualized supervision consists of an annual report describing the status of complaints handled on the municipality in question, and statistics on the queries fielded by the Catalan Ombudsman from persons and organizations in Roses. Roses is the 13th local council of Catalonia to sign an individualized supervision agreement with the Catalan Ombudsman.
